Creative Muay Thai Training
Creative Training with Kru Apple at Santai Gym
#1. Kicking Exercise – Kru Apple using a hand wrap to tie the student’s hand to his forehead, so that the student can practice keeping his hand up in guard position while kicking. This helps with improving, and gaining good technique.
#2. Kru Apple using a glove stuck to the end of the teaching stick, and uses it to jab the student while he push kicks. This improves defense while push kicking. While push kicking, you must be slightly leaned back in order to avoid punches from the opponent.
Kru Phon and Teaching Stick! Video
Muay Thai Kick Footwork :
In this video, Kru Phon is helping Steve (UK) with his footwork while kicking. Steve has started training at Santai 3 days ago and this is his first time doing Muay Thai. He already knows how to kick but needs to learn more footwork and recovering back into his stance after kicking, and keeping his hands up. Kru Phon fixes him while he hits the bag with the helpful use of Phon’s teaching stick.

Fight At Kalare Stadium – Nick Salvino (Australia)
Tonight, January 10th, 2012, Nick Salvino W.Santai (Australia) fought at Kalare Stadium, Chiang Mai, Thailand. Nick accepted this fight the day before, as our originally scheduled fighter Ryan W.Santai has had the flu all week and could not fight. Nick Salvino fought an aggressive and exciting fight with good kicks and lots of power through all 5 rounds, and both fighters going back and forth at each other. Nick lost in decision at the end to the Thai fighter. Nick will meet this opponent in the ring again and have a rematch after he can prepare for the fight properly.
Fights Update!
December 30, 2011 – Another fun night at Kalare stadium! Ryan blocked a lowkick in round 2, his opponent hurt his leg or foot against Ryans shin, Ryan won by TKO. Dan Weinbrand lost in the desicion after 5 rounds of good fighting, Dan was winning, many bodykicks and many elbows landed, his American opponent was cut over the eye but Dan ran out of steam and lost the later rounds. Good fights by both Santai boys!
December – 26, 2011 – Tonight's fights at ThaPhae Stadium were action packed! Danial Williams (Australia) and Mitch Dean (Australia) both won their fights by way of knock out in the 4th and 3rd round respectively. Danial fought a tough thai fighter, and he showed very good muay thai technique. The fight was toe-to-toe until Danial landed the KO punch. Mitch also fought a tough Thai fighter and this was his 3rd fight of… the week. Mitch went guns blazing with kicks, punches, and clinch throws in all rounds and knocked his opponent out by the end of the 3rd round with heavy punches. Both fighters did a great job, and are now off to fly back home to Australia. They plan on coming back to Santai sometime around April to train hard, improve their techniques, and conditioning, and have more fights!
